Qualifications

  • PhD degree (or equivalent) in marine structures, structural health monitoring, or related fields.
  • Strong background in finite element analysis and/or data analytics.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills for disseminating results and sharing knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and calibrate finite element models for structural components using embedded sensing configurations and test data.
  • Create algorithms for integrating strain, vibration, and environmental data into structural state reconstructions.
  • Develop data-driven surrogate models for structural states.
  • Establish a framework for structural reliability re-analysis to update failure probabilities of critical components.
  • Contribute to research-based teaching and supervision of MSc students.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Education

  • A PhD degree (or equivalent) is required.

Tools

  • Finite element analysis software and data analytics tools.
