About the role

Job summary

This position involves a two-year postdoctoral role focused on CMOS integrated circuit design for magnetic sensor interfaces as part of a European research initiative. The role emphasizes the development of high-performance readout electronics tailored for advanced sensing systems.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a closely related field, completed within the last 6 years.
  • Strong expertise in analog and mixed-signal CMOS IC design for sensor interfaces, particularly in low-noise and precision circuit techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with full-custom IC design and physical implementation in an industry-standard EDA environment, preferably in 65 nm CMOS or similar processes.
  • Solid understanding of noise, offset, mismatch, PVT variation, stability, linearity, and low-frequency-noise mitigation techniques.
  • Experience with at least one IC tape-out and laboratory characterization of fabricated silicon.
  • Strong publication record and effective collaboration skills in interdisciplinary research environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Translate sensor characteristics and project-level requirements into electrical specifications and CMOS sensor-interface architecture.
  • Design low-noise, low-power analog and mixed-signal circuits, including sensor biasing, precision amplification, filtering, and digital calibration.
  • Execute the complete full-custom IC design flow from schematic modeling to tape-out.
  • Develop PCB-based test setups and measurement procedures, and characterize the CMOS interface with target sensor devices.
  • Document design specifications, verification results, and measurements; publish research outcomes and engage in project coordination.

Skills

  • Proficiency in analog and mixed-signal IC design.
  • Familiarity with EDA tools for IC design and verification.
  • Knowledge of data converters and digital calibration techniques.

Education

  • PhD in a relevant field (Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics).

Tools

  • Industry-standard EDA tools for IC design and verification.
