Postdoctoral Researcher in Clinical Metabolism and Microbiome Science

Job summary

This role involves contributing to the clinical assessment of innovative microbial foods within a research program focused on nutrition and the microbiome. The position is part of a mission-oriented project that aims to establish clinical evidence for new food categories through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• PhD in clinical nutrition, clinical metabolism, microbiome science, or a related field.
• Experience in analyzing samples from human interventional studies.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English, with familiarity in IT and AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on protocol co-design for human clinical trials involving fungal-fermentation-based foods.
• Design and implement analytical workflows for trial samples, focusing on cardiometabolic biomarkers and microbiome composition.
• Integrate clinical data with predictive health models developed by the AI team.
• Coordinate with clinical teams and manage the prototype supply pipeline to ensure trial progress.

Skills

• Hands-on experience with clinical trial sample handling and analysis.
• Familiarity with microbiome sequencing and/or metabolomics.
• Exposure to statistical modeling of clinical data, including machine-learning approaches.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to research challenges.

Education

• PhD in a relevant field (clinical nutrition, clinical metabolism, microbiome science).

Tools
