The role involves leading experimental efforts to connect metabolic changes with multicellular dynamics through innovative techniques.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and genetic engineering.
  • Expertise in fluorescence microscopy, including live imaging and light-sheet microscopy.
  • Proven ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, capable of conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Experience mentoring students at various academic levels.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize optogenetic gene circuits and live-cell metabolic sensors to monitor energy flow in mammalian cells.
  • Conduct metabolic phenotyping using functional assays such as Seahorse XF analyzers and isotopic tracing.
  • Prepare samples for omic data generation, including metabolomics and transcriptomics.
  • Design and execute 2D multicellular assays to study collective behaviors like cell migration and pattern formation.
  • Perform experiments to investigate how metabolic states affect cellular mechanosensing and responses to mechanical cues.
  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets from live-cell microscopy and metabolic sensors.
  • Provide mentorship to PhD, MSc, and BSc students involved in the project.
