Postdoctoral Researcher in AI Systems and Embedded Intelligence

Job summary

This role involves conducting advanced research on reliable, sustainable, and self-adaptive AI systems within embedded, edge, and distributed computing environments. The position is part of the REGAIN-AI project, focusing on managing uncertainty and reliability in AI-enabled systems.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Documented research interests in AI systems, embedded intelligence, or related areas, evidenced by a publication record.
• Strong analytical and mathematical problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in experimental systems research and prototype development.
• Proficient communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on self-adaptive AI systems and develop methodologies for managing uncertainty and resource consumption.
• Create proof-of-concept implementations and validate solutions on various computing platforms.
• Publish research findings in international conferences and journals.
• Supervise MSc and PhD students and contribute to the research environment.

Skills

• Experience with experimental prototypes and AI-enabled systems in resource-constrained environments.
• Knowledge of probabilistic reasoning and uncertainty-aware machine learning techniques.

Education

• A PhD degree in a relevant field is required.

• Familiarity with experimental systems research tools and methodologies.
