Qualifications

  • PhD in Wind Energy, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in wind turbine aerodynamics.
  • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
  • Familiarity with low fidelity modeling of aerodynamics.
  • Knowledge of numerical optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python and relevant numerical packages.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality results.

Responsibilities

  • Model rotor aerodynamics using both low and high fidelity methods.
  • Analyze flow dynamics around rotors and airfoils.
  • Engage in multi-disciplinary modeling and optimization of wind turbine rotors.
  • Design wind turbine airfoils under multiple constraints.
  • Disseminate key research findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific conferences.

Education

  • A formal qualification of a PhD degree (or equivalent) is required.

Tools

  • Experience with CFD tools and Python programming is essential.
