Job summary

This position involves conducting research on the aeroacoustic design of wind turbine rotors, contributing to the green energy transition through innovative design methods and solutions. The role is based on-site and includes both experimental and numerical approaches to wind turbine aerodynamics.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Wind Energy, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in wind turbine aeroacoustics.
  • Experience with numerical methods and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
  • Proficiency in low fidelity modeling of aeroacoustics.
  • Experience in analyzing acoustic measurements.
  • Proficient in Python and various numerical packages.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality results.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high and low-fidelity models for wind turbine airfoil and rotor aeroacoustics.
  • Analyze acoustics for rotors and airfoils.
  • Engage in multi-disciplinary modeling and optimization of wind turbine rotors.
  • Conduct acoustic measurements of wind turbine components in anechoic wind tunnels.
  • Disseminate key research findings through peer-reviewed journal publications and presentations at scientific conferences.

Education

  • A formal qualification of a PhD degree (or equivalent) is required.

Tools

  • Experience with numerical modeling tools and Python programming.
