Job summary

The Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is seeking candidates for postdoctoral and assistant professor roles focused on Autonomous Robotic and Aerial Robotic System Design. The positions aim to advance research in electromechanical robotic systems integrated with advanced sensing technologies, particularly for high-voltage line inspection and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (PhD) in electronics, robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, embedded electronics, or a related field.
  • Relevant research and teaching experience aligned with the responsibilities of the position.
  • Expertise in the design and optimization of electrical and mechanical components, system integration, experimental design, and testing.
  • For the Assistant Professor role, a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality research in electromechanical systems, including the development of robotic arms and aerial vehicles.
  • Contribute to teaching activities, including course development and supervision of BSc and MSc students in Electronics and Robotics.
  • Collaborate with researchers in robotics, digital systems, and high-frequency electronics.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and conferences.
  • Actively seek external funding to support research initiatives.

Skills

  • Strong background in system design and development for robotic applications.
  • Proficiency in FPGA and neuromorphic computing, Edge AI, machine learning, and power electronics.
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and address societal challenges through research.

Education

  • PhD in a relevant field is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with advanced sensing technologies and electromechanical design tools.
