This position offers a fully funded PhD scholarship focused on applying machine learning methodologies to study the immune system, particularly in relation to Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The role involves collaboration with a leading hospital to enhance understanding of autoimmune diseases through computational approaches.

Qualifications

  • A two-year Master’s degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong passion for scientific research and knowledge expansion.
  • Proficient programming skills in R and/or Python.
  • Experience with machine learning and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with biological sequence and omics data.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply machine learning methods for pattern recognition in immune repertoire and spatial transcriptomics data.
  • Integrate diverse datasets from public and project-specific sources.
  • Collaborate with clinical partners to interpret computational results.
  • Communicate findings through publications and presentations at international conferences.

Education

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent academic qualification is required.

Tools

  • R, Python, and relevant machine learning frameworks.
