Job summary

This PhD scholarship focuses on the fabrication of advanced photonic components essential for light-based quantum technologies. The project integrates nanofabrication and material science with the principles of integrated photonic circuits to develop devices for quantum computing systems.

Qualifications

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent academic level.
  • Experience with semiconductor fabrication processes and clean room operations (mandatory).
  • Preferred experience in developing dry or wet etch processes for microchip fabrication.
  • General understanding of Photonic Waveguides and Photon Integrated Circuits (optional).
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English (mandatory).

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate photonic devices for quantum computing applications.
  • Collaborate with the Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Project for material stacks and design guidance.

Skills

  • Strong background in material science and semiconductor process engineering.
  • Familiarity with photonic integrated circuit fabrication techniques.

Education

  • Candidates must possess a relevant master's degree.
