Job summary

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at a Danish university is offering a PhD scholarship in Artificial Intelligence, starting on 1 October 2026 or soon thereafter. The position is for three years and includes a competitive salary, following the PhD study program at the Faculty of Science.

Qualifications

• Relevant MSc degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, (Applied) Mathematics, Computational Statistics, or a related field.
• Fluency in English and Python is required.
• Experience with deep learning models, mathematical foundations of machine learning, and optimal deployment of AI systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of advanced language models and derived use cases.
• Focus on topics such as LLM customization, agentic behavior, tool use, multi-modality, and interactivity in the PhD project.

Skills

• Proficiency in Python; knowledge of Rust/C++ is a plus.
• Extensive software development experience and familiarity with deep learning software stacks and machine learning frameworks are advantageous.

Education

• Candidates must have obtained a master’s degree by the enrollment/employment date.
