Job summary

This position offers a three-year PhD fellowship focused on researching pedagogy, learning, and volunteering in technology education, particularly in bridging voluntary associations and formal school systems. The project aims to enhance technology-driven learning experiences for young people and is hosted by an academic institution in collaboration with a voluntary association.

Qualifications

  • Experience and interest in pedagogy, educational science, or adult education
  • Knowledge of learning design, didactics, and informal learning environments
  • Familiarity with mentoring, knowledge transfer, and intergenerational learning processes
  • Proficiency in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods, including empirical fieldwork
  • Ability to disseminate knowledge across research and practice contexts
  • Knowledge of the Danish and German school systems is advantageous
  • A master's degree in a relevant field such as education science or pedagogical theory is required

  • Map and analyze existing teaching practices and learning culture within the voluntary association
  • Identify effective communication and facilitation methods for technology learning in non-formal contexts
  • Investigate the development needs of volunteer educators and mentoring dynamics
  • Explore how non-formal technology education can enhance interest in STEM subjects among young people
  • Develop and test methods and materials for integrating community-based technology education into formal teaching
  • Contribute to research in non-formal learning and technological literacy
  • An analysis of teaching and learning culture within the voluntary association
  • Recommendations for supporting volunteer educators' professional development
  • A catalogue of methods and learning sequences for enhancing technological literacy in schools
  • Evidence-based strategies for integrating voluntary technology education into formal STEM teaching
  • Academic publications and dissemination efforts aimed at practitioners and the research community
