Payroll Specialist Lead (Denmark)

Job summary

This role is a key operational leadership position within a global payroll organization, responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll execution in complex, multi-country environments, with a strong focus on Poland.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience in payroll operations, ideally in mid-to-senior roles.
• Hands-on experience managing full-cycle payroll in Poland, including compliance and reporting.
• Experience in multi-country or global payroll environments.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax frameworks, reconciliations, and payroll controls.
• Familiarity with payroll systems and tools, such as R2Płatnik (Symfonia) or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal controls.
• Manage full payroll cycles, including validation of inputs, calculations, reconciliations, and post-payroll activities.
• Act as a subject matter expert for Polish payroll, staying updated on legislative and compliance changes.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for seamless payroll execution.
• Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies, escalating complex issues as necessary.
• Support the implementation of payroll services in new jurisdictions.
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Maintain and enhance payroll documentation and operational knowledge bases.
• Participate in testing and validation of payroll systems and workflow changes.
