About the role

Job summary

This internship offers an opportunity to engage with UN communication strategies and gender equality initiatives while working in the Nordic and Baltic regions. Interns will support the Partnerships and Visibility team in various tasks aimed at enhancing the organization's visibility and partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a postgraduate degree program or final year of a bachelor's degree in political science, development studies, gender studies, international relations, media and political communication, journalism, or a related field.
  • Proficient in English and a Nordic language, with an advantage for knowledge of another UN language.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct political research and report on relevant government policy developments in Nordic and Baltic regions.
  • Monitor national media coverage related to gender equality and the organization's mandate.
  • Assist in planning events and high-level visits.
  • Draft and distribute corporate updates and press releases.
  • Create content for social media to boost visibility and awareness on gender issues.
  • Organize outreach activities and meetings with various stakeholders to enhance cooperation.
  • Collaborate on advocacy and communication efforts with UN sister organizations.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Good knowledge of social media and communication strategies.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Proficient in MS Office and multimedia tools.

Education

  • University studies in relevant disciplines as mentioned above.

  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom.
