Job summary

This position is for a part-time employee focused on the development and deployment of control strategies for building energy systems, working closely with real-world pilot cases. The role involves utilizing sensor data for control and prediction in an international research environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Control, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience in control system development and deployment is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong interest in control theory, building energy systems, and modeling.
  • Excellent oral and written English skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the calibration and completion of data-driven grey-box models for pilot cases.
  • Extend or complement grey-box models for controller development.
  • Assist in the development of a Model Predictive Controller (MPC).
  • Help deploy the MPC and manage data exchange mechanisms for control commands and measurements.
  • Document and validate models, methods, and results for reproducibility and reliability.

Skills

  • Independent working style with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to carry tasks forward while being part of a team.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Tools

  • Familiarity with control systems and modeling tools is beneficial.
