This position involves supporting research activities through the simulation of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images, focusing on freestanding oxide membranes. The role is integral to ongoing research on advanced oxide materials and their structural characterization.

Qualifications

  • Relevant background in physics, materials science, nanotechnology, or a related field.
  • Experience with ab initio TEM simulations and familiarity with abTEM or similar simulation tools.
  • Ability to perform, analyze, and interpret TEM simulations and compare them with experimental data.

Responsibilities

  • Simulate TEM and STEM images for freestanding oxide membranes.
  • Utilize abTEM or related computational tools for electron microscopy simulations.
  • Compare simulated data with experimental TEM results.
  • Assist in data analysis, figure preparation, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with researchers on oxide membranes and electron microscopy projects.

Skills

  • Proficiency in transmission electron microscopy, crystallography, and atomistic structure models.
  • Experience with Python-based simulation workflows and ab initio methods is advantageous.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with abTEM or similar simulation software is necessary.
