Job summary

An opportunity exists for an Optics Engineer to join a dynamic R&D hardware team focused on developing advanced sports tracking solutions. The role involves collaboration with a skilled team to tackle real-world optical challenges and contribute to innovative product development.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in Optics, Physics, Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in infrared and visible optics, camera sensors, geometrical optics, lens design, illumination optics, optical imaging systems, optics alignment, and optical coating design.
  • Hands-on experience with optics lab equipment and test setups.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, simulation, and testing tools, particularly using Python or similar programming languages.
  • Familiarity with consumer electronics manufacturing and high-volume suppliers is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Design and specify camera optics, illumination optics, optical filters, protective windows, coatings, and sensors to meet product requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new optical technologies.
  • Plan and execute optical verification and production tests, troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with optics vendors to develop customized optical solutions.
  • Support production processes, including optical assembly concepts, calibration methods, and quality inspections.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Education

  • Preferably a PhD or MSc in relevant fields.

Tools

  • Experience with Python or similar programming tools for data analysis and testing.
