Mechanical Project Manager

Job summary

The role involves leading the on-site delivery of mechanical projects, ensuring effective planning, execution, safety, quality, and cost control. You will coordinate with various teams and manage subcontractor activities to ensure successful project completion.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification and/or relevant third-level engineering or technical qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in medium-to-large mechanical installation projects; 8+ years preferred for senior roles.
• Strong practical understanding of mechanical systems and knowledge of electrical interfaces.
• Experience with integrated design-and-build delivery models.
• Knowledge of site health and safety practices and statutory compliance.
• Proficient in scheduling tools, project reporting systems, and standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Clear communication skills for leading meetings and liaising with clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage design review, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems.
• Oversee interfaces between mechanical and electrical scopes and ensure constructability.
• Coordinate daily site activities and maintain site productivity.
• Develop and maintain the site programme in line with project plans and client requirements.
• Control costs for your scope and issue weekly cost reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain project safety files.
• Manage subcontractor activities and track progress.
• Produce internal and external progress reports and maintain documentation.
