Job summary

The role involves designing innovative mechanical and electromechanical systems for advanced metrology products. The position is based in Lyngby, near Copenhagen, and requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate (Academic) Degree with no related work experience; Master's Degree with 3 years of related experience; or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze mechanical systems and components for metrology systems, including requirements specification and feasibility studies.
  • Conduct conceptual and detailed design using 3D solid modeling tools, create detail drawings, and procure prototype parts.
  • Generate necessary documentation (BOM, ECO, assembly drawings) for manufacturing release.
  • Collaborate with system engineering, manufacturing, and field support for troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Identify and propose improvements in existing designs and processes.
  • Provide hands-on support for system installation and prototype assembly.
  • Identify and qualify local suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality parts.

Skills

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve supplier issues.
  • Proficient in CAD mechanical design using CREO and Solidworks.
  • Experience managing large assemblies and system layouts, and familiarity with PDM systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, sheet metal forming, and 3D printing.
  • Understanding of assembly and part tolerancing, as well as precision machine design.
  • Ability to interpret and create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Education

  • Doctorate, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Tools

  • CREO, Solidworks, PDM systems.
