Job summary

The Marine Labour Relations Manager will handle complaint cases, oversee compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and participate in various compliance projects.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing employee complaint cases and resolving conflicts, particularly with disciplinary outcomes.
  • Ability to implement compliance measures effectively.
  • Experience in global labor relations and managing complex wage scales.
  • Familiarity with seafarers' employment regulations is preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Legal expertise, ideally within a maritime context.
  • Knowledge of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into complaints of bullying, harassment, and discrimination.
  • Update and develop labor relations processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and relevant regulations.
  • Draft and optimize documentation related to labor relations.
  • Engage in ad hoc compliance projects within the Marine People & Culture organization.
  • Benchmark wage scales for seafarers on a global scale.

Education

  • Relevant educational background in labor relations, law, or a related field is preferred.

Tools

  • Familiarity with compliance and labor relations management tools is beneficial.
