Legal Counsel (Payments, Copenhagen)

Job summary

An experienced lawyer is sought to join a legal team focused on supporting the Global Open Banking and Developer Experience team, particularly in the European and international development of open banking products and solutions. The role involves providing legal support throughout the product lifecycle and managing commercial contracts, while also advising on legal and regulatory risks.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with a strong academic background, ideally with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Experience in commercial contracting, technology, and/or financial regulation.
• Familiarity with new product development is a strong asset.
• Ability to identify regulatory, data privacy, and intellectual property issues.
• Strong drafting, writing, oral communication, and negotiation skills.
• Customer-focused with a willingness to learn and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal support throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage various commercial agreements with customers, suppliers, and partners.
• Handle and advise on disputes with third-party suppliers and clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and collaborate with specialists for strategic legal advice.
• Instruct and manage external legal advisors within agreed policies and budgets.

Education

• Law degree from an accredited institution.
