Lead Engineer - Data

Job summary

The Lead Engineer - Data will establish the architectural framework for the data platform, supporting analytics, product engineering, and AI/ML initiatives. This role involves collaboration with various engineering teams to ensure reliable data ingestion, modeling, and orchestration, while also innovating data interaction methods for enhanced user confidence.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt, including modeling and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with pipeline orchestration tools, preferably Dagster, and experience with modern cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP) and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in SQL and Python for automation and data services.
• Strong software engineering practices, including CI/CD and testing.
• Experience in operating data systems with a focus on incident response and data privacy.

Responsibilities

• Define the architectural direction of the data platform for analytics and AI/ML.
• Design dbt models and establish quality standards for data reliability.
• Manage orchestration and observability in Dagster, ensuring scalability.
• Develop self-serve analytics tools and workflows for enhanced data accessibility.
• Build foundational systems for predictive and real-time data use cases.
• Maintain platform reliability, performance, and compliance.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
