About the role

Job summary

An experienced Laytime Specialist is sought to manage laytime calculations and enhance demurrage processes. This role involves ensuring timely settlement of demurrage invoices, collecting data and insights from operations, and providing feedback to commercial teams. The position supports digitalization initiatives to improve laytime handling efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations or demurrage, with an interest in maritime law.
  • Strong team player with the ability to build trustful relationships.
  • Comfortable handling complex tasks and maintaining oversight in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, solution-focused, and proactive.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Valid residence and work permit for the chosen work location.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily laytime claims and ships’ performance claims.
  • Prepare and recover outstanding amounts.
  • Interpret contracts and contribute to contract optimization.
  • Prepare internal reports and set operational performance targets.
  • Participate in customer meetings and negotiations.
  • Develop relationships with customers through a professional approach.
  • Support digitalization initiatives, including new systems and data-driven improvements.

Skills

  • Strong numerical and IT skills, with the ability to quickly learn new tools.
  • Structured and disciplined work style.
  • Ability to work constructively with colleagues and clients.

Education

  • Relevant experience in maritime operations or a related field is preferred.

Tools
