Job summary

This is a 12-month internship opportunity for a Laboratory Technician Intern focused on upstream process development within the Technology Adoption & Innovation team. The role involves gaining hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture processes and contributing to the evaluation and implementation of new technologies in a collaborative laboratory environment.

Qualifications

  • Completion or expected completion of the theoretical part of the Danish Laboratory Technician education before the internship starts.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Adaptable, structured, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Understand principles of fed-batch and perfusion cell culture.
  • Perform seed train and production runs in various bioreactor systems.
  • Conduct routine sampling and monitor in-process parameters such as cell density and viability, pH, and metabolites.
  • Prepare media and feeds for cell cultures.
  • Support harvest preparation and sample logistics for downstream processing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Laboratory Notebooks and paper-based records.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of upstream equipment.

Skills

  • Strong interest in mammalian cell culture and bioprocess development.
  • Positive and proactive mindset with attention to detail.

Education

  • Enrollment in or completion of the Danish Laboratory Technician education.

Tools

  • Experience with shake flasks, single-use CultiBags, 5L glass bioreactors, and AMBR®250 system is beneficial.
