Job summary

The Health, Safety & Environmental Manager is a specialist role responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards within the organization. Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of experience in HSE/environmental management in construction, rail, electrical, telecoms, or industrial settings.
  • Strong understanding of permits, incident investigation, contractor management, and environmental controls.
  • Proven ability to influence site behaviors and challenge unsafe practices.
  • Resilience in high-pressure situations, including audits and incident management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HSE plans, risk assessments, and incident-reporting processes.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and toolbox talks to promote safety culture.
  • Investigate incidents and unsafe conditions, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Coordinate HSE readiness for various operational phases including installation and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with the organization's Code of Conduct and HSE regulations.

Skills

  • Practical leadership and the courage to stop unsafe work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with various stakeholders.

Education

  • Relevant qualifications in Health, Safety, and Environmental management are preferred.

Tools

  • Familiarity with HSE management software and tools for risk assessment and incident reporting.
