Head of Projects (Renewable Energy, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The Head of Projects will oversee the delivery of large-scale Advanced Bioenergy projects across Europe, ensuring effective project execution from development through to operations. This role involves strategic leadership and direct project involvement, managing a multidisciplinary team and establishing necessary processes and governance.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 10–20+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, particularly with utility-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project CEOs to ensure adequate resources and capabilities for project phases.
• Develop recruitment and workforce planning strategies for current and future projects.
• Lead and retain a multidisciplinary team of project managers and experts.
• Design and implement project governance frameworks and reporting processes.
• Establish project controls for planning, scheduling, and budget oversight.
• Manage relationships with external partners and ensure consistent project execution.

Skills

• Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing distributed teams.
• Commercial understanding of project economics and investment performance.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Education

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Tools

• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies, including forecasting techniques.
