Head of Claims (Logistics, IMEA Region, Remote)

Job summary

The Head of Claims for the IMEA region is responsible for overseeing customer cargo claims related to ocean and logistics services. This role involves collaboration with global and regional stakeholders to manage claims processes, provide legal advice, and lead initiatives to improve claims handling.

Qualifications

• Over 15 years of experience in claims or legal roles within the maritime or logistics sectors.
• Legal qualification or equivalent senior claims expertise from a P&I Club, commercial insurer, or in-house environment.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Broad knowledge of legal and claims matters in the IMEA region.
• Experience in matrix environments with stakeholder influence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee customer cargo claims across ocean and logistics services.
• Support the Global Claims Hub on complex cases and act as an escalation point.
• Provide strategic legal advice and lead litigation matters.
• Assist in integrating newly acquired businesses into the claims structure.
• Guide and support direct reports and deliver claims training to stakeholders.
• Engage with insurers and support recovery processes against vendors.
• Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, and Commercial teams on claims-related contracts.
• Propose regional initiatives aligned with global claims priorities.
• Drive process improvements within the claims function.
