Freelance Supply Chain Consultant (Remote)

Job summary

This role involves working as a Procurement & Supply Chain Expert on project-based AI initiatives, focusing on designing disruption scenarios and evaluating AI-generated recommendations for accuracy and relevance.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of practical experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing context.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement workflows including purchase orders, vendor management, inventory, and production planning.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Ability to create and analyze supply chain disruption scenarios and mitigation strategies.
• Understanding of various disruption types including delays, shortages, and logistics challenges.
• Familiarity with Incoterms and logistics management.
• Knowledge of BOM structures and production planning processes.
• Experience with supplier performance metrics like OTIF and lead times.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate AI outputs against business logic.
• Experience in data validation and structured data tasks.
• Proficient written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

Project time expectations

Tasks are estimated to require 10-20 hours per week during active project phases, depending on requirements.

Compensation

Earn up to $60 per hour based on experience and contribution level, with variations depending on project scope and complexity.

• Design realistic supply chain disruption scenarios based on real-world contexts.
• Define expected outcomes and mitigation strategies for each scenario.
• Evaluate AI-generated recommendations for accuracy and business relevance.
• Assess outputs within ERP environments for completeness and relevance.
• Contribute to structured data creation and validation tasks.
