This is a freelance, fully remote position for a Data Scraping Engineer specializing in Python. The role involves executing data scraping tasks with a focus on accuracy and reliability, utilizing various tools and technologies for data extraction and processing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end data extraction processes across complex websites, ensuring accuracy and reliable delivery of structured datasets.
• Utilize available tools and custom workflows to enhance data collection and validation.
• Adapt scraping techniques for dynamic web sources, including JavaScript-rendered content.
• Maintain data quality through validation checks and consistency controls.
• Scale scraping operations for large datasets and monitor for stability against site changes.

Skills

• Proficient in Python web scraping using tools like BeautifulSoup and Selenium, with experience in handling dynamic content and APIs.
• Strong ability to extract data from complex structures and perform data cleaning and normalization.
• Familiarity with LLMs and AI frameworks for automation enhancement.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Self-directed with strong troubleshooting skills.
• English proficiency at upper-intermediate level (B2) or above is required.

Tools

• Experience with data extraction tools such as Apify and OpenRouter.
• Knowledge of data formats like CSV, JSON, and Google Sheets.
