About the role

Job summary

A detail-oriented Financial Controller with a focus on payroll is needed to ensure accuracy and compliance across payroll processes in an international context. This role involves collaboration with Finance, HR, and external partners to manage payroll accounting and compensation effectively.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in economics or finance (e.g., HA, HD, Cand.merc.)
  • Hands-on experience in financial controlling with a payroll component

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate monthly payroll processes across multiple countries
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of payroll-related payments and settlements to the general ledger
  • Support month-end closing, including accruals for salaries, bonuses, and holiday pay
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Ensure compliance with local legislation and internal controls
  • Analyze payroll costs, variances, and trends
  • Act as the primary contact for compensation-related matters
  • Maintain HR data with confidentiality and accuracy
  • Drive process improvements and system optimization
  • Handle bookkeeping and payroll oversight for smaller foreign entities

Skills

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including reconciliation and accruals
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and payroll systems (e.g., D365 BC, Lessor, HiBob)
  • Ability to handle sensitive HR and compensation data with discretion
  • Structured and analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

Education

  • Relevant degree in economics or finance
