Field Applications Scientist (Remote)

Job summary

This role involves providing expert support to an international customer base in the field of molecular biology, particularly focusing on PCR and oligo synthesis. The position is fully remote and requires a blend of scientific expertise and customer interaction skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Over 7 years of experience in genetics and/or molecular biology
• Proven expertise in oligo synthesis, PCR, Real-Time PCR, nucleic acid purification, data analysis, and experimental development
• Excellent customer interaction and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and lead projects with minimal oversight
• Strong strategic and creative thinking abilities
• Passion for problem-solving and delivering solutions to customers

Responsibilities

• Provide expert support to international customers, addressing their application needs and resolving equipment and software issues
• Lead and mentor junior staff, fostering professional development and high performance
• Ensure timely and successful completion of projects according to planned schedules
• Independently lead projects to support improvements in software applications and applications development
• Collaborate with Engineering, Software, Science, and Production teams on special projects
• Maintain a positive attitude and promote continuous improvement within the team

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience
