Engineering Team Leader (Remote)

Job summary

The Engineering Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a small product team of engineers, focusing on team dynamics and optimizing execution. Qualifications

• Experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 individuals.
• Extensive background in Backend development (Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming).
• Strong engineering fundamentals with a history of delivering secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
• Familiarity with designing or adopting automation workflows and improving them iteratively.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
• Commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion.
• Demonstrated capabilities in automation and AI fluency.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 3-5 engineers, spending 30% of time on management tasks.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding new engineers.
• Provide continuous feedback and coaching to team members.
• Redesign engineering workflows using autonomous agents.
• Propose and implement agentic workflows to enhance delivery speed and quality.
• Ensure results are verified for correctness, security, and scalability.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not explicitly stated.
