Electrical Project Manager

Job summary

This role involves leading electrical delivery on various projects, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance from mobilization to handover. The position requires close collaboration with project, engineering, commercial, and EHS teams on-site.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification and/or relevant third-level electrical or engineering qualification.
• 5–10 years of project management experience in medium-to-large electrical installation projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical interfaces and major power/distribution systems.
• Proven experience in design-and-build environments and managing complex site installations through to handover.
• Solid understanding of H&S legislation and best practices for live and construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders, managing expectations and building relationships.
• Liaise with clients on KPI development and provide weekly updates and performance reports.
• Supervise electrical contractor activities, track progress, and coordinate subcontractor meetings.
• Develop project execution strategies, schedules, and milestones, maintaining a critical-path focus.
• Manage project costs and budgets, administer change control, and report impacts to management.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and QEHS standards on-site.
• Plan and manage site QA, testing, and validation activities.
• Review drawings and oversee BIM coordination and technical submittals.
• Develop testing and commissioning plans, lead project close-out activities, and ensure safe working conditions.

Education

• Relevant trade qualification or third-level qualification in electrical or engineering fields.

Tools

• Familiarity with scheduling and reporting tools; knowledge of electrical systems including generators and distribution systems.
