About the role

Job summary

This role involves supporting the development and optimization of electrical control systems for advanced vacuum deposition platforms in a pioneering quantum processor manufacturing environment. The position is a 1-year parental leave cover.

Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming, development, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture and industrial automation systems.
  • Strong documentation skills with a structured approach to maintaining implemented solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and debug electrical racks for controlling industrial vacuum deposition chambers.
  • Perform electrical work including building cables, connectors, and equipment grounding.
  • Build PLC-based industrial process control software.
  • Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and physicists.
  • Identify automation software requirements and document delivered software solutions.

Skills

  • Ability to translate user and operational requirements into practical hardware and software solutions.
  • Good understanding of automation, control theory, and industrial process control.
  • Practical experience integrating and controlling sensors, drives, and other industrial hardware components.
  • Experience with Python programming and Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) systems is considered an advantage.
