The Discipline Lead is responsible for overseeing the design process within their discipline and adjacent areas, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This role involves maintaining compliance with guidelines and regulations while collaborating with customers to ensure satisfaction with design outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical, process, or mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in process design and start-up within the chemical, food, or biotech industries
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP) into engineering deliverables
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts, ensuring alignment from requirements to design decisions
  • Maintain consistency and compliance with relevant guidelines
  • Coordinate design schedules with adjacent disciplines
  • Contribute to customer design reviews to ensure satisfaction

Skills

  • Strong planning and structuring abilities for design work
  • Experience in balancing quality, time, and cost in project management
  • Ability to ensure solutions are robust and traceable to requirements

Education

  • BSc or MSc in chemical, process, or mechanical engineering

Tools

  • Familiarity with design and engineering software relevant to the pharmaceutical industry
