Job summary

An experienced Deputy Construction Manager is needed to assist in the successful delivery of a significant pharmaceutical project in Copenhagen, Denmark. This role involves collaborating with the Construction Manager to coordinate site activities, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and drive project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in construction management or senior site management within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or regulated industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of GMP environments and challenges related to laboratory and cleanroom construction.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across Mechanical, Electrical, and CSA scopes.
  • Ability to coordinate complex retrofit projects in live operational facilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction planning, quality management, and contractor coordination.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience in international project teams.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in English; additional Scandinavian language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Construction Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction activities within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Lead multidisciplinary construction teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, and CSA package leads.
  • Coordinate with Safety, Contracts, Quality, and Commissioning teams for seamless project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, industry standards, and building regulations.
  • Develop and update detailed construction schedules, coordinating retrofit works to minimize disruption.
  • Drive quality assurance and control processes, ensuring adherence to approved specifications.
  • Manage interfaces between client representatives, design teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor site productivity and escalate issues for timely resolution.
  • Prepare regular project reports on status, performance, risks, and recovery actions.
  • Promote a strong safety culture in line with project HSE standards.
