Data Science Manager

Job summary

We are seeking a Data Science Manager to lead two teams focused on automated content moderation and fake review detection within the Trust Technology team. This role involves overseeing the development, deployment, and maintenance of innovative technology solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing data science and engineering teams, particularly in complex technical domains such as fraud detection or healthcare ML.
• Strong background in building scalable systems with machine learning components from concept to production.
• Familiarity with cloud-based ML training and real-time systems, especially in GCP.
• Experience in training production models and optimizing systems for low false-positive tolerance.
• Hands-on technical proficiency and a commitment to staying current with AI/ML approaches.
• Excellent people management skills with a focus on coaching and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead and empower cross-functional teams of Data Scientists and Engineers.
• Own delivery across key initiatives, balancing ML research goals with engineering practices.
• Facilitate technical scoping and deliverable prioritization in collaboration with product partners.
• Manage stakeholder communication regarding issues, risks, and progress.

Skills

• Expertise in system architecture and design for scalable systems.
• Practical experience with high-volume live inference and cloud-based ML.
• Strong understanding of advanced modeling and precision optimization techniques.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.

Education

• Relevant degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.

Tools

• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and cloud platforms, particularly GCP.
