Data & AI Platform Architect (Professional Services, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves working with clients on their big data challenges through short to medium-term engagements, focusing on data engineering, data science, and cloud technology projects. The position is customer-facing and requires delivering projects with a high level of service.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data engineering, data platforms, and analytics.
• Proficient in coding with Python or Scala.
• Familiar with at least two cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP), with expertise in one.
• Deep understanding of distributed computing, particularly with Apache Spark™.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices for production deployments.
• Familiarity with MLOps.
• Experience in designing and deploying end-to-end data architectures.
• Proven track record in managing technical project delivery, including scope and timelines.
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience in client interactions and conflict management.
• Willingness to travel to clients approximately 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engagement managers to define the scope of professional services work based on customer input.
• Guide clients in implementing transformational big data projects and third-party migrations, including the design, build, and deployment of applications.
• Consult on architecture and design, and assist in bootstrapping or implementing customer projects.
• Provide escalated support for customer operational issues.
• Work closely with technical teams to ensure project components meet customer requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering and customer support to provide feedback and resolve engagement-specific issues.

Skills

• Strong coding skills in Python or Scala.
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficient in distributed computing and Apache Spark™.
• Familiar with CI/CD and MLOps.

Education

• Relevant experience in data engineering or a related field is essential.

Tools

• Experience with data platforms and analytics tools, particularly those related to big data and AI.
