Job summary

The Configuration & Defect Manager is responsible for managing configuration and defect processes, ensuring proper documentation and version control for installations and approvals. This role involves maintaining baselines, defect logs, and coordinating with various teams to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Over 5–7 years of experience in configuration management, defect tools, and release control.
  • Experience in systems integration, rail, software, IT/OT, or safety-related projects.
  • Strong knowledge of version control, release management, and defect analytics.
  • Ability to coordinate technical teams and manage stress during peak periods.
  • Strong judgment in escalation and maintaining discipline and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain configuration and defect management processes, including item structures and reporting.
  • Maintain records for hardware, software, and other assets.
  • Conduct defect triage and manage root-cause tracking and closure governance.
  • Coordinate releases and configuration changes with relevant teams and stakeholders.
  • Report on open defects and baseline status, ensuring transparency in configuration issues.
  • Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all role-related decisions.

Education
