Manager, Clinical Budget Oversight

Job summary

This role involves overseeing the financial planning and management of clinical trial budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with program strategies. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to support budget development and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, science, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare sector, preferably in clinical R&D.
• Experience in budget management, forecasting, and planning within the life sciences industry.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain clinical trial budgets across studies.
• Participate in scenario planning for trial designs and review budget inputs for risks and optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with Development Operations Program Leads and Finance for budget reviews and financial reporting.
• Facilitate monthly accruals and variance analysis meetings.
• Train stakeholders on budget processes and tools.
• Contribute to budgeting tool and process improvements, ensuring adherence to internal standards.
• Monitor vendor budgets and collaborate with various teams to align budgets with contracts.

Skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with SAP, Power BI, and Clinical Trial Management Systems preferred.
• Basic understanding of Python or other programming languages is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across teams.
• Adaptability to new situations in a dynamic environment.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; master’s degree preferred.

• MS Office Suite, SAP, Power BI, Clinical Trial Management Systems (e.g., Veeva Vault).
