Chemical Process Specialist (Manufacturing, Remote)

Job summary

The role involves acting as a Process Expert to ensure effective start-up performance for new builds and line conversions in chemical processing areas. The specialist will focus on optimizing production outcomes while maintaining compliance with environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience in can manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with washers, wastewater treatment systems, and chemical processing equipment.
• Proven skills in troubleshooting, equipment setup, and optimization, along with knowledge of chemical properties and safety standards.
• Ability to train others in process operations; Train-the-Trainer certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools.
• Flexibility to travel on short notice and fluency in English; additional languages are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized chemical and process adjustments to enhance production efficiency.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and conduct root-cause analysis for mechanical and process issues.
• Ensure reliability of chemical processing equipment during start-ups and align results with performance targets.
• Provide technical leadership and training to site personnel during critical phases.
• Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with safety and legal requirements.
• Identify and eliminate waste and inefficiencies, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support preventive maintenance routines and optimize chemical processing lines using measurement systems.
