Automation Engineer

Job summary

The Automation Engineer will be integral in linking production, equipment, technicians, and IT within a GMP-regulated environment. This role focuses on providing automation support for the Fill & Finish facility, ensuring that automation functionalities operate effectively while balancing daily operational support with project participation.

Qualifications

• Degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, automation technology, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience with automation-heavy production equipment, preferably in a GMP or regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of GMP requirements and documentation practices.
• Proficient in Danish and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support to production for stable and reliable operations.
• Drive projects for updates, improvements, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems, both independently and collaboratively.
• Lead or contribute to deviations, change controls, and root cause analyses.
• Conduct qualification activities including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and support Performance Qualification (PQ).
• Maintain high documentation and compliance levels through strong GMP practices.

Skills

• Experience with PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting (Siemens).
• Familiarity with iFix SCADA, process control, and batch systems (ISA-88/S88, ISA-95).
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet/IP).
• Understanding of data integration technologies (OPC UA, SQL, MES, Historian).
• Experience with virtual environments (VMware) and IT infrastructure (Active Directory, network, storage).
• Basic electrical design skills (P&ID, electrical diagrams, control schematics).

Education

• Degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, automation technology, or a related field.

Tools

• PLC/HMI systems, SCADA systems, process control software, and data integration tools.
