Job summary

The Centre for Industrial Mechanics at a university invites applications for an associate professor position focused on multiscale modeling of mechanical and electromechanical devices, starting January 2027.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in securing funding through projects or consultancy.
  • Strong teaching abilities in engineering or physics subjects.
  • Excellent research and development track record.
  • Proficient communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality research and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Present research results at international conferences.
  • Engage in teaching topics such as Computational Multiphysics and Mechanics of Materials at both bachelor and master levels.
  • Mentor junior research staff and students.
  • Collaborate with industrial partners and other universities on research projects.
  • Involve in on-site manufacturing and testing activities.

Skills

  • Experience in multiscale mathematical modeling using Finite Element methods.
  • Knowledge of multiphysics effects in materials, including piezoelectricity.
  • Ability to validate simulation results experimentally.

Education

  • A doctoral degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with Finite Element analysis and related modeling tools is essential.
