Associate Professor in Medical Robotics

Job summary

This position involves contributing to research and teaching in the field of medical robotics, focusing on Bayesian machine learning applications in industrial manufacturing and medical diagnosis. The role is based at the main campus in Odense, Denmark, and requires onsite presence.

Qualifications

• Relevant PhD degree in robotics or a related field.
• Documented research experience in imitation learning and control for robotics applications.
• Proven track record of publications in scientific journals and conferences.
• Experience in acquiring and managing funded research projects.
• Strong background in engaging with industrial partners on application-oriented projects.
• Teaching experience, including supervision of project courses and thesis projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with colleagues on the development of core technologies.
• Manage research projects and raise funding.
• Conduct lab experiments and participate in industrial applications.
• Organize and deliver high-quality teaching for undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Supervise BSc, MSc, and PhD thesis projects.

Skills

• Expertise in sensing technology for biomedical applications.
• Knowledge of online estimation and adaptive control methods, particularly for medical applications.
• Familiarity with neural networks and deep learning in medical contexts.
• Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

Education

• PhD in robotics or a related field is required.
