Applications Development Engineer

Job summary

The role involves developing and optimizing applications for advanced electrical metrology solutions, closely collaborating with customers and internal teams to ensure product effectiveness in both R&D and high-volume manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Doctorate (PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field with 0+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 3+ years; or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor applications and device characterization.
• Solid knowledge of engineering principles related to electrical measurements and data analysis.
• Strong communication skills in English, including technical writing and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement applications for metrology systems focusing on sheet resistance and magnetic characterization.
• Conduct in-house characterizations, feasibility studies, and demo activities for products.
• Analyze electrical measurement data and develop methodologies and test plans.
• Create technical documentation and present results to customers.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and enhance product performance.
• Support global customer engagements, including tool evaluations and process integration.
• Capture customer requirements and translate them into application solutions.
• Lead medium-sized application projects and support training of field application engineers.

Skills

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing and electrical characterization techniques.
• Ability to independently solve complex technical problems and develop application solutions.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or JMP.

Education

• Doctorate, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields as specified.
