AI Research Resident

Job summary

The AI Research Residency is a program designed for exceptional researchers and engineers focused on advancing agentic AI. Residents will engage in hands-on research, collaborating closely with a dedicated mentor and the team developing an agentic code generation platform. The program emphasizes the production of publishable research and active participation in a company-wide research colloquium.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a graduate degree (MS or PhD) in computer science, AI, machine learning, or a related field.
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with modern ML frameworks, preferably PyTorch.
• Understanding of agentic LLM concepts, multi-agent systems, and reinforcement learning.
• Experience in turning research ideas into reproducible code.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in writing research papers or presenting technical work being a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop multi-agent and reinforcement learning strategies for agentic code generation.
• Build evaluation suites, including task specifications and performance dashboards.
• Acquire and curate datasets, generating synthetic data when necessary.
• Drive an original research question, collaborating with the team for rigorous analysis.
• Co-author a research paper for submission to a relevant venue.
• Present findings at the residency colloquium to the broader research community.

Skills

• Familiarity with program synthesis, code generation, and offline reinforcement learning is a bonus.
• Experience with open-source contributions to relevant frameworks is advantageous.
• A proactive approach to ownership and self-direction in a fast-paced startup environment.

Education

• Graduate degree (MS or PhD) in a relevant field or equivalent research experience.

Tools

• Proficiency in Python and modern machine learning frameworks.
