Job summary

The Vice President of Global Medical Safety will lead the strategic direction and oversight of medical safety for investigational and marketed products within a global organization. This role focuses on advancing safety evidence generation and benefit-risk decision-making, particularly in the neuroscience sector.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, particularly in Patient Safety/Pharmacovigilance or Clinical Development
  • Strong understanding of clinical development and lifecycle safety

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic direction for Global Medical Safety, aligning with R&D and Global Patient Safety priorities
  • Advance proactive safety evidence generation and address emerging safety profiles and uncertainties
  • Provide senior medical leadership for benefit-risk decision-making and advise on complex safety questions
  • Collaborate with various functions to integrate safety into evidence planning
  • Drive innovation in safety science using advanced analytics and new data sources
  • Ensure excellence in safety surveillance, risk management, and regulatory submissions
  • Represent Global Medical Safety in governance forums and interactions with health authorities
  • Build and develop a high-performing global organization with a focus on accountability and collaboration
