Job summary

The Department of Political Science and Public Management is offering a three-year full-time PhD scholarship focused on the project Reconciling ownership and democracy within land-use transformations. The position is based in Odense, with an expected start date of 15 August 2026 or soon thereafter. The project aims to explore the relationship between property rights and democratic decision-making in land governance, utilizing historical analysis, fieldwork, and political theory.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant fields such as history, political science, or anthropology.
  • Strong academic performance and understanding of research designs and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a research proposal addressing property rights and the Green Tripartite Agreement.
  • Engage in independent research while collaborating with supervisors and peers.
  • Participate in PhD courses, teaching, and supervision of undergraduate students.
  • Attend and present at conferences, engaging with the academic community.
  • Interact with societal actors, including media and the public.

Skills

  • Curiosity and a strong desire to generate new research ideas.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Interest in participating in academic and social environments.

Education

  • Applicants must hold a master’s degree of 120 ECTS or equivalent qualifications.

Tools

  • Familiarity with political theory, historical analysis, and ethnographic fieldwork methodologies.
