Technical Operations Engineer

Job summary

This role involves ensuring the reliability and performance of autonomous surface vehicles throughout their lifecycle, from production to global deployment. The position is based in Copenhagen and requires a systems-minded engineer who can navigate complex challenges and translate vehicle performance into operational improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred; fields such as Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Robotics, Software, or Aerospace are relevant.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with complex embedded systems, robotics, or autonomous hardware in production or field settings.
• Proficient in interpreting electrical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with serial and network protocols (e.g., CAN, RS-485, RS-232, SPI, I2C, TCP/IP).
• Familiarity with Linux OS and ability to write or understand shell scripts; experience with APIs is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for conveying technical issues to cross-functional teams and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex hardware, software, and networking issues using Linux command-line tools and telemetry.
• Ensure technical accountability for assigned vehicles, focusing on reliability and operational readiness.
• Conduct root cause analysis for field failures and support corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on system architecture and evaluate solutions.
• Support global deployments, involving vehicle preparation and troubleshooting, with up to 30% travel.
• Participate in on-call rotations for high-priority fleet incidents.
• Develop documentation and technical guidance for operational processes.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to safety and work standard improvements.
