Job summary

This role involves supporting usability engineering in the design of medical devices, specifically hearing aids. The student assistant will work closely with a team focused on usability and co-creation, engaging in various tasks that range from administrative support to hands-on usability activities.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant field of study, ideally design and innovation engineering or similar
  • Minimum of two years remaining until graduation
  • Highly motivated and capable of managing responsibilities with various stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct, and report on usability studies
  • Set up and manage surveys
  • Assist in CoCreation activities and workshops
  • Maintain a database of test participants and recruit them
  • Develop prototypes for testing purposes
  • Design and proofread presentations
  • Write usability documentation and transcribe logbooks
  • Edit, organize, and store video files
  • Perform smaller graphical design tasks for instructional materials
  • Ideate on visualization of design ideas based on study results
  • Analyze competitor product solutions
  • Arrange materials and engage with users at events

Skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage varying demands
  • Service-minded approach with a willingness to take on diverse tasks

Education

  • Enrollment in a relevant academic program, preferably with a focus on design or engineering

Tools

  • Familiarity with usability testing tools and design software is a plus
